Carnival in Sweden- food wise

Remember how I told you about the Fastelavnsboller tradition for carnival in Denmark? Well, a few kilometers from here in Sweden they actually have a tradition to eat something very much like our Danish cream bombs. A great reason for another day trip to Malmö.

The Swedish variant of this holiday treat is even more bread-like, contains a light almond cream and whipped cream.

The actual reason to go to Malmö was to see my friend but having this sweet treat on the fly did not hurt. The gateau bakery makes them in a big and a small size and once you’re in there you should grab a cinnamon or cardamom swirl at the same time, they are divine!

Wonder if the Swedes have more carnival traditions and if this is just the tip of the cream iceberg?
